Why would one get distracted by a digital screen as opposed to an analogue? In motion all one needs is the map (which is an indispensable aid), music and that's pretty much it. Thankfully, that car does has some buttons for major functions but you still have to use the touchscreen occasionally, taking your eyes away from the road while piloting a rather large car. I drove my friend's new Scorpio N on an out of town trip yesterday. I find it increasingly difficult to focus on driving modern cars. I'm 40 and a hardcore car enthusiast and drive myself. ![]() Am I the only one that feels that cars are getting unnecessarily complicated in the cabin? I mean the distractions that are in front of you, with multiple screens, touch screens, voice commands which don't recognise what you're saying, does no one find them distracting and sometimes downright scary especially on our roads? ![]()
